When pets start to lose the use of their back legs, for whatever reason, they often begin to "knuckle," or walk on the tops of their feet. For some dogs and cats, a boot is a good solution to those problems, and Epiks dog boots are among the best when it comes to protecting the feet of pets who knuckle. These hard-soled boots are especially sturdy, and we've found that some dogs in the early stages of degenerative myelopathy can actually place their feet more accurately when wearing these boots. NOTE: Please be aware that boots may worsen your pet's coordination problem. Although some special needs dogs are helped by boots, others experience decreased coordination and proprioception with boots on.
